I used to think LucasArts and Lucasfilm
really had marketing overkill mastered, until the last couple months.

Disney is the unabashed King o' Marketing... All the Star Wars - The Force Awakens marketing tie-ins are overwhelming. I am really getting quite fed up with it all...
Instead of it piquing my interest in seeing the flick, it almost makes me want to avoid all the insanity.
Hell- I saw a damned Fiat commercial with SWTFA branding... WT actual F?

But this jewel that I came across this AM.

Star Trek meets Monty Python

Back in the Office for a day or two...
ZachC of The Wrong Way stopped by my lair office to discuss the possibility of a camping trip to the Tortugas Career Development Seminar and, as always, we were unable to stay on-topic.


ZC: "Dude, google 'Star Trek Monty Python'"

Yours Truly: "But Z... I have many time-sensitive, important tasks that I must tend to in order to be a productive cog in the machinery of our benevolent employer.
I have no time for foolishness!"

ZC: "Pull the other one, it has bells on it... Just google it."

YT: "Alas, I must wait until later tonite, after I have put in a full, productive day and travel back to my humble abode, then I shall look into your YouTube foolishness. Good day sir."

ZC: "C'mon, Big Guy..."

YT: "I said good day sir. Begone, so I might be able to concentrate on my job."

ZC was attempting to alert me to an even more entertaining Star Trek/Monty Python mashup than the previously posted "What's in Spock's Scanner"...

I have to say, when I watched it I did giggle like a little schoolgirl.

Sunday Matinee (No spoilers here)

I made my monthly foray to contribute to the Entertainment Industry's bottom line by taking in a movie.
I had originally planned on seeing Avatar, but after recent revelations regarding Cameron's script notes, I decided to say FTMF and go see something a little more apocalyptic - The Book of Eli.



Just a couple things -

- I loves the Sunday Matinee at Regal- all movies are 5 bucks.
Awesome.

- They are obviously making their dough at the concession counter.
12 bucks for a medium drink and a medium popcorn?
Let me do the ROI on the fountain drink, cup, popcorn and paper bag they serve it in... Add that, multiply those, carry the seven...
11.97 profit on a 12 dollar sale.
Hmmm.
FTMF too.

- 7, count 'em- 7 previews.
26 minutes of coming attractions.
And only one of which I'd probably see.
