Here's an interesting story regarding your beloved beach volleyball. My colleague (Andrew from Montreal) worked for Swiss Timing for 5 years. His job was...technology manager for World Cup beach volleyball. All over the world - Rio, Sydney, Krakau, you name it. You'd think THAT was a good, job, eh? This year he quit. Why? Because he was scheduled for 9 weeks in Beijing. He maintains the place is so nasty, he figures every minute spent there takes two minutes off a person's life, and even beach VB wasn't worth it.
Sad but true.
But I hear sufficient pancake ingestion partially counteracts the effects of the pollution, so you're probably not going to die any time soon.
