No pics this time... Sorry guys.
We made it out to Loggerhead on the night of the 4th...
Phil and Bev gave us a run-down on the care and feeding of the island...
Lots of little maintenance details: Take this reading, do this task, etc.
Then we were on our own...
We have had quite a few turtle crawls (just browsing for a good spot) and nests...
I'm getting better at identifying the tracks- (Photos coming...)
The first few days were dead still and in the high 90's...the breeze has finally picked up,
so we have had some relief from the oppressive heat.
The prevailing life form on Loggerhead is the crab population... hundreds of ghost and black-back crabs. You can't walk around at night without getting a few underfoot.
And they get into everything...
No Visitors from the South yet... The USCG Cutter Yellowfin has been patrolling offshore for the last few nights, so we have been able to sleep pretty well at night...
Lots more fun- more posts and pictures coming soon...
