Don't taunt the moose.
Don't feed the moose.
Don't get near the moose.
They look like doofy horses, but they're bad-tempered, weighty, and strong.
If you want to simulate the after effects of a moose attack, hoist a pallet of cinder blocks two stories up, then drop it on your chest.
Just because it won't eat you afterwards, it doesn't mean it won't kill you.

ReplyDeleteStay away from the bulls in the fall and the cows in the spring, is a good rule of thumb.
ReplyDeleteTheir eyesight is bad, so if something is bothering them they will either run at it or through it.
One can usually hide behind a tree until they forget what they were mad at and then both you and the moose can walk away. (in different directions).
Also, do not shoot the moose in the water.
ReplyDeleteIt's almost impossible to get it ashore when it's all limp, soaked and dead.
Ask my uncle how he learned this lesson...
