Executive Order?

Regardless of all the EO noise, I doubt The Lightbringer will use an EO to ban firearms...
I hope he's smarter than that... It would be the tipping point.

An EO on 10+ round mags? that's another story...

  2. Under which statute could he issue an EO to ban magazines > 10 rounds?

  3. What Borepatch said. Executive Orders only affect the government. There's no statute that grants him the power to determine the magazines that citizens can buy.

  4. Yeah, yeah...
You say that like you think he WON'T play fast and loose with the rules...

Have we not been playing attention for the last 4 years?

Do you think they won't try some shenanigans in order to say "Here- we did SOMETHING."

I have no faith that they will adhere to laws of the land...

  5. The real question is does an EO have the force of law? I don't believe it actually does...

  6. Along Anonymous' line of thought:
laws and executive orders are nothing more than words on paper. They have effect only because they are agreed to by enough people in our society.
The real question will boil down to how many, and more importantly, who will agree?
