  1. A few facts:

Obama has taken 61 vacation days after 31 months in office. This trip will bring him up to 71.

At the same point in his first term, George W. Bush had spent 180 days on vacation.

Ronald Reagan - 179 vacation days.

    Clinton - 28 vacation days.

  2. Not enough vacation then! The more time he spends out of DC the better for the country - besides, aren't all his un-elected Super-Czars supposed to run all things? Who needs Congress when you've got SuperCzars!?

  3. So, Mighty Skunk...What was the cost-per-day for Bush to stay in his own home on his own property?

And how many foreign diplomats went there because they felt more comfortable than in D.C.?

  4. Cormac: I was just stating facts. Got any facts to back up your post?

Here are a few more facts. The cost of Bush's vacations isn't the issue. The issue is the cost of Bush's incompetence. He spent $6 trillion on Wall Street bailouts, $3 trillion on off-the-books wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, $1.7 trillion on tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans, and cost the US $260 billion in 9/11 damage by ignoring intelligence briefings entitled "bin Laden Determined To Strike Inside The US". That's about $11 trillion racked up on Bush's watch.

Current US debt is $14.65 trillion.

Obama has spent 3.65 trillion trying to undo Bush's mistakes and servicing Bush-created debt.

End of facts. Start of opinion. If Obama can solve even small parts of the mess he inherited, he can vacation wherever he wants as far as I'm concerned.
