IRM = FOA

In computer scoring of many different events, they have what is referred to as an IRM, or an Invalid Result Mark. (See why they abbreviate it?)

IRMs are TLAs like DNS (did not start), DNF (did not finish), DSQ Disqualified, and so on.
We have an unofficial IRM here in the IDS Lair, used as we watch the feeds from Alpine, Long track, Short track, Snowboard... Hell, pretty much everything including Curling...
FOA.
Falls On Ass

My favorite are the folks from Figs in the Pacific Coliseum...

My man Pete once told me the basis of all comedy is someone else's misfortune.
So true. So very true.

Impact in 3... 2... 1...

That's a good way to break a wrist, there, Spooky.

Ooooh, this is gonna leave a mark...

...But the hair... The hair still looks good.

It's okay, this is part of the routine.

Man, these sequins are digging into my ass...

Hey- Farmer Ted... Keep the skates on the ice.

Alright, maybe this one should be FOF- Falls on Face.

  1. The blond in third pic looks like she's trying out for the new movie "Porn on Ice"!

  2. Now you've gone and done it. This blog post caused me to ROFLMAO so abruptly that I blew a mouthful of minstrone soup through my nose.

I propose that you add two more IRMs to describe the state of those people working INSIDE the IDS lair. Seems that people like us always fall into one of two classifications of state:

    BFS (Bored Fuc*^ng Sh&tless)

    or

    HOF (Hair On Fire)

  3. I might have to add a IRM state indicator on the blog status line...

Back in 2001 at the Goodwill Games in Brisbane we had the JNF, the Jay Negativity Fund. It was a box where I had to contribute a dollar (AUS) every time I yelled, lost my temper, or used a profane exclamation.
People wanted a daily update on the JNF Index- A high increase indicated that it was a bad day, a low number meant things were relatively serene.
It wound up in the leader on my daily newsletter.
(The Turner guy who imposed the fine took the money to the casino at the end of the GWG and put it all on one hand of Blackjack. And lost.)
    Good times... Good times.

Tweaked the anti-spam settings a bit.
Let's see if this does the trick.
